Privacy Policy

This policy covers the Marbles on Teams website, companion service, and Twitch extension (together, the “Service”), operated by TheJeansentis.

Relationship to Marbles on Stream

Marbles on Teams is an independent, unofficial side-companion app for Marbles on Stream. We did not create and do not own, develop, publish, or operate Marbles on Stream. The Service is not affiliated with, authorized by, sponsored by, or endorsed by Marbles on Stream or its creators, developers, or publishers.

What we collect

• Twitch account data: Twitch user ID, login, display name, and the channel in which the extension is used. We receive a numeric user ID only after you use Twitch’s identity-sharing prompt.
• Game and leaderboard data: race and Battle Royale results, points, placement, finish time, display-name color, team membership, records, task progress, XP, and cosmetic settings. Participating broadcasters submit game results through the companion app.
• Community data: team names, tags, descriptions, membership, invites, recruiting settings, and local-team information that users or participating broadcasters create.
• Bits records: Twitch transaction ID, product SKU, Twitch user ID, login, channel, and timestamp. Twitch processes the Bits exchange; we do not receive payment-card or billing details.
• Broadcaster data: companion status, stream settings, and, when a broadcaster enables optional chat features, a Twitch access token and the selected chat settings.
• Technical data: ordinary request and security-log data such as IP address, request time, requested path, response status, and user agent. A short-lived in-memory rate limiter also uses IP addresses to prevent abuse.

How we use data

We use the data only to operate and secure the Service: identify the watched channel and identity-linked viewer, calculate and display leaderboards, maintain teams and tasks, apply viewer preferences, validate Bits transactions, prevent duplicate grants and abuse, support broadcasters, and diagnose faults.

Where European data-protection law applies, processing is based, depending on the feature, on your request to use the Service, your choice to share identity or enable optional features, our legitimate interests in operating and securing a community leaderboard, and legal obligations.

What is public

Twitch login or display names, game results, leaderboard statistics, records, teams, task completion, and selected cosmetic styles may be visible to other viewers on the website, in the extension, in overlays, or in optional broadcaster-enabled chat messages. We do not publicly display Twitch numeric IDs, access tokens, IP addresses, or transaction IDs.

Sharing and service providers

We do not sell personal data. We share data only as needed with Twitch for authentication and Bits features, and with infrastructure and security providers used to deliver the Service, including Cloudflare. We may disclose information when required by law or necessary to protect users and the Service.

Analytics and advertising

We use Cloudflare Web Analytics to understand aggregate site usage and performance. If advertising is enabled, the website also uses Google AdSense to display ads. Google and its advertising partners may process device, network, consent, and ad-interaction information and may use cookies or similar technologies as permitted by your choices and applicable law.

Where required, advertising is loaded together with a Google-certified consent management platform so you can make or change advertising choices. Google’s advertising privacy documentation ↗ explains how Google processes information in its advertising products.

Retention

Leaderboard and historical game records are retained while needed to operate seasons, records, and community history. Account mappings, preferences, teams, and task data are retained while the account participates in the Service or until a verified deletion request. Broadcaster tokens are retained until replaced, disconnected, or deleted on request. Bits transaction records are retained as needed for duplicate prevention, accounting, dispute handling, and legal compliance. Security logs are retained only for the operational period needed to investigate reliability or abuse.

Your choices and rights

• You can use public leaderboard features without sharing your Twitch identity.
• You can revoke extension identity sharing and application access from your Twitch account settings.
• You may request access, correction, export, restriction, objection, or deletion of personal data, subject to applicable law. Where historical competition data must be preserved, we can anonymize it instead of continuing to associate it with your account.

To make a privacy request, privately contact TheJeansentis through the Marbles on Teams Discord ↗ or use the support email published on the extension’s Twitch listing. Do not post identity documents or other sensitive information in a public channel. We will verify that the requester controls the relevant Twitch account.

Security

We use signed Twitch Extension tokens, server-side transaction verification, HTTPS, access controls, input validation, request limits, and restricted storage of secrets. No online service can guarantee absolute security.

Children

The Service is not directed to children who are not permitted to use Twitch under Twitch’s terms. If you believe a child’s data was submitted improperly, contact us for removal.

Changes

We may update this policy as the Service changes. The effective date above will be updated, and material changes will be communicated through the Service or community channels where appropriate.
