Privacy Policy

The short version: we only keep what we need to run the leaderboards and teams. We don’t show ads, we don’t sell data, we don’t use tracking cookies, and we don’t keep logs of visitors’ IP addresses.

This policy covers the Marbles on Teams website, companion app, overlays and Twitch extension (together, the “Service”). The Service is run by Jeanious, a business registered in the Netherlands, which is responsible for your data. You can reach us at [email protected].

Relationship to Marbles on Stream

Marbles on Teams is an independent, unofficial side-companion app for Marbles on Stream. We did not create and do not own, develop, publish, or operate Marbles on Stream. The Service is not affiliated with, authorized by, sponsored by, or endorsed by Marbles on Stream or its creators, developers, or publishers.

What we keep

• Your Twitch name: your Twitch login and display name, and your numeric Twitch user ID if you choose to share your identity with the extension or log in on the website.
• Game results: race and Battle Royale results that participating streamers’ companion apps send in, such as placement, points, finish time and name colour. These power the leaderboards, records, tasks and XP.
• Teams and profile settings: teams you create or join, invites, and the victory styles and cosmetics you pick.
• Chat features: when a streamer turns on chat features, our bot reads that channel’s chat to answer commands (like !mystats) and count Pluto emotes. We keep the resulting counts and settings, not the chat messages themselves.
• Bits purchases: the Twitch transaction ID, what was bought (such as a Special Task), by whom, in which channel and when, so each purchase is delivered exactly once. Twitch handles the payment; we never see card or billing details.
• Reports: if you use the extension’s Report button, your Twitch login, what you reported, the reason and any short note you add, so an admin can review it.
• Streamer settings: for streamers, their channel settings, whether their companion app is connected, and (only if they enable chat features) a Twitch access token for posting in their chat.

What we don’t keep

• We don’t keep logs of visitors’ IP addresses or browsing. To block spam, the server briefly checks how many changes come from one address, for about a minute and only in memory. Error logs record technical faults, not who visited.
• We don’t show ads and don’t use advertising or tracking cookies.
• Fonts and all other site files are served from our own server, so your browser isn’t sent to Google or other third parties for them.

Your browser

The website stores a few things in your own browser: your login session and display preferences (for example, which stats view you last picked). This is needed for the site to work the way you set it, and it never leaves your device except to log you in. We use Cloudflare Web Analytics for simple, cookie-free visitor counts.

Why we use it

Only to run the Service: show leaderboards and records, run teams, tasks and rewards, deliver Bits purchases, post the chat messages streamers turn on, and fix problems. Under the GDPR, we do this because you asked to use the Service or turned a feature on, or because we have a legitimate interest in running a community leaderboard for Marbles on Stream viewers.

What other people can see

Leaderboards are public by nature. Twitch names, game results, stats, records, teams, completed tasks and chosen victory styles can be seen on the website, the extension, stream overlays and in chat messages that streamers turn on. Numeric Twitch IDs, tokens and transaction IDs are never shown.

Who else is involved

We never sell data. Twitch handles logins, the extension and Bits. Cloudflare delivers the website to your browser securely. They only process what’s needed for that. We’d only share anything else if the law requires it.

How long we keep it

• Game results and records stay for as long as the leaderboards and season history exist.
• Your profile, teams and settings stay until you delete your account.
• Streamer tokens stay until they’re replaced or disconnected.
• Bits records are kept as long as needed to prevent double deliveries and for bookkeeping.
• Reports are kept while they’re useful for moderation and are deleted when you delete your account.
• Backups of the database are deleted automatically after 30 days.

Your choices

• Delete your account at any time: go to Config → Your Account → Privacy. We remove your personal data and keep your old race placements only as “Unknown User”, so other players’ results stay correct. You won’t be added back to the leaderboards unless you opt back in.
• You can browse all public leaderboards without logging in or sharing your identity.
• You can revoke the extension’s or the website’s access at any time in your Twitch settings under Connections.
• You can also ask us to see, correct, export or delete your data, or object to how we use it. Email [email protected] or message TheJeansentis privately on the Marbles on Teams Discord ↗. We’ll only ask you to confirm you own the Twitch account. Please don’t send ID documents.

Security

We use HTTPS, Twitch-signed tokens, server-side checks for purchases, request limits and restricted storage of secrets. No online service can be perfectly secure, but we keep what we hold to a minimum.

Children

The Service follows Twitch’s own age rules and isn’t aimed at anyone too young to use Twitch. If you think a child’s data has ended up here, email us and we’ll remove it.

Changes

If we change this policy, we’ll update the date at the top and mention bigger changes on the site or in the Discord.
